How do squirrels travel?
Safely and calmly, in a secure, comfortable carrier with the right bedding and food. We go through all the details with you in advance.
Caring for your squirrel
What do squirrels eat?
A balanced mix of squirrel or rodent block, fresh vegetables, some fruit and a few nuts in the shell, with fresh water always available. See our care guide for details.
How big a cage do they need?
As large and tall as you can manage. Squirrels climb and jump all day, so height is just as important as floor space.
How long do squirrels live?
Captive squirrels often live ten years or more, so adopting one is a long-term commitment.
Do they need a vet?
Yes. Please find an exotic-animal vet near you before bringing a squirrel home.
Rules where you live
Is it legal to keep a squirrel in my state?
It depends. Rules differ widely by state and sometimes by city or county. Some places require a permit, some only allow captive-bred animals, and some don't allow squirrels as pets at all. It is the buyer's responsibility to check local rules before reserving, and we will ask for your state when you enquire.
